This is a report by the Florida Council of 100. The report provides information on Florida aquifer systems, freshwater demands and withdrawals, and applicable laws and redulations. In 1995 the freshwater withdrawal was 7.5 billion gallons per day of which surface water withdrawal was 60% of the total.

This website provides information on where the water comes from to the In the 16-county Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District. Approximately 652 million gallons of water is used each day. The majority of this water is from surface water sources. Chattahoochee River/Lake Lanier provides 73% of the water requirement, while Flint River provides 3% of the regional total water supply.
Under the Storm Water Management tab, information about water absorbed into soil and stormwater run-off to the streams are discussed. From the total rain fall in the region in the forest areas 80-90% of water is absorbed into the soil, while 10-20% is account for run-off. This ratio for residential and urban areas are 50-60%:40-50% and 0-10%:90-100% respectively.
The The District-wide Water Management Program provides links to finding information on current and projected land use, water quality and imperviousness data and recommended policies and changes to laws, regulations and ordinances.
Wastewater Management Plan and Water Sypply and Conservation Plan also provide useful data and information on treatment facilities, water demand projections, water supply and wastewater treatment issues.
