The Lake Lanier Association (LLA) was founded in 1966 to address the needs of the regions stakeholders. The organization has evolved to a membership of over 4,500 members and organizations. According to their website http://www.lakelanier.org/, the stakeholders for the lake include lake residents, individuals, families, businesses, boaters, and fisherman.
Specific information on the lake can be found at their website: http://www.lakelanier.info/
The Corps of Engineers operates 46 parks around the lake. The recreational activities they provide include: golfing, camping, boating, fishing, hunting, picnicing, hiking, swimming, and geocaching.
There are 10 marinas around the shores of Lake Lanier. Many of the marinas offer new and used boat sales, boat storage and boat maintenance. Most have on-site gas-pumps.
The US Institute for Environmental Conflict Resolution in conjunction with the National Resources Leadership Institute out of NC State University is conducting a stakeholder investigation on the ACF Basin.
